Still here...

Hey everyone :)

Just popping in quickly to say hi and let you know we're all still alive over here. We're all adjusting to summer vacation and getting over some major highs and lows the past couple weeks.

So look forward to lots of posts soon, because our family's been on some real adventures lately!

To hold you over, here's one of our adventures:

We got another kitty! Meet Mozzie.

out of the hay loft in the barn!

Okay, let me rephrase that: I got a kitten....however everyone else thinks he belongs to them instead of me. He's about 12 weeks old. His hobbies are purring, attacking toes and knees (especially in the middle of the night), and stalking unsuspecting toys, which he then ungracefully pounces on. He is white with a black face, and has black spots on his right side only. His tail is black, except for a couple inches at the tip is white, like he was painting with it :)

Oh, and he rules the roost. He puts our other cat, Moe, and our dog, Mason, in their place, as well as the other two cats who are spending the summer with us.

Dinnertime Adventures

For the past 2 1/2 weeks, we've been cat sitting for our friends Stephen and Vanessa as they went to Japan for Christmas. Magnus and Lily are frequent visitors to our house, and we love having them here. Their owners just got home, so the cats left today.

As thank you/Christmas gifts, Stephen and Vanessa brought us back fun little things, like origami sets, calligraphy brushes and paper, and tea. We each also got our own set of chopsticks! The kids' ones have trainers on them, and they were so excited, we had to try them out for dinner tonight:

I was the only one who had used chopsticks before, but it had been years so I was rusty. We did pretty well, considering we tried this new recipe, and the noodles were slippery (I had to substitute elbows for the rotini). It was a yummy and fun dinner!
