It's hard to believe school let out a month ago! Where has the summer gone?
It's also hard to believe how big the kids got this year:
The first day of school.... |
...and the last day! |
She loved second grade... |
....and he loved kindergarten! |
I always try to make the last day of school special for everyone, from the kids in school to those staying home. It worked out that I didn't have any babysitting kids in the morning, so I was able to spend some extra time with Ryan doing fun things!
Ry
loves playing Angry Birds on our tablet, but we don't like the kids spending a lot of time staring at a screen...so I made up Angry Birds for him to play with his imagination:
First you build a wooden block structure.... |
Then you add some little figures.... |
And then you pull out your Nerf gun and shoot! |
A break for mini cinnamon rolls is a must :) |
Then you play some more! |
After breakfast and Angry Birds, it was time to get a special lunch ready for all the kids. Paige, Nate, and the babysitting kids had a half day, so we couldn't exactly do our normal last day of school lunch (build a blanket fort in the living room and have finger foods). Instead, Ryan and I made homemade pizza for everyone. It was a big hit!

olives for the pizza |
For dinner, the kids wanted baked macaroni and cheese, but with it being too hot, we did hot dogs instead. But we still finished with ice cream!
Have you ever celebrated the end of the school year?
THat sounds awesome! I love the blanket fort idea. May be we'll try that soon
